Bicone beads

A bicone is cut like two cones joined at the base, so every facet throws light in a different direction. In embroidery that makes it the fastest way to add sparkle without adding bulk.

What to expect

Czech pressed and cut glass in several sizes and a wide colour range, including AB and metallic coatings. The shape is symmetrical and the hole runs point to point, so the beads sit neatly in a row and keep their direction when couched.

Where they work best

Scattered across a motif they imitate dew or frost; packed tightly they build a faceted surface for collars, cuffs and evening bodices. They are equally at home in beaded jewellery and in embroidered accessories.
