Needle sizes follow BOHIN’s European numbering — the higher the number, the finer the needle. Chenille and tapestry needles have large eyes for thick threads, wool and ribbon; milliners are long and even along the shaft, which suits bullion knots and gathering; betweens are short, for quilting and fine hand stitching.
