French wire and purl for goldwork and tambour embroidery

Purl is a fine metal wire coiled into a hollow spring. It is cut to length like a bead and couched onto fabric, for outlines, raised chipwork and dense metallic fill. We stock pearl purl, smooth purl and check purl from 1 mm to 3 mm, in 10 g packs.
