Description

“Rayon” was formerly known as artificial silk. 1934 July 8 A law passed in France stopped it from being called artificial silk at the request of natural silk producers to avoid confusion.
In reality, this “artificial silk” has nothing in common with real silk except for its appearance. In the industry, it is also known as filament viscose. It is made from wood pulp, so it is a man-made fiber, but it is not synthetic (petroleum-based fibers).
This is a lightly twisted thread with a beautiful sheen and properties close to cotton—it is not very elastic, and the same dyes are used for both.
